International Outreach at Work!

Arts: The objective of this Community Service Program is to:

• Encourage members to foster and support arts activities in all communities.
• Encourage members' artistic expressions and recognize & support members' achievements in photography.
• Encourage members and youth to develop creative writing skills and to recognize their achievements.

Conservation: This Community Service Program  strives to :

• Care for the environment and realize that its protection is an important part of our mission.  Promote and support environmental education to improve the quality of life now and in the future.
• Educate members and others about the importance of community appearance and beautification and its connections to economic development.  Stimulate citizen action to address the community appearance and environmental concerns.
• Educate members and communities to encourage awareness of the importance of our natural resources.  Stimulate citizen action to address resource conservation concerns.

Education: The objective of the Education Community Service Program  is to:

• Educate members and those in the community to support education initiatives, in and out of the classroom, promote, train and provide literacy tutors, and provide lifelong educational opportunities.
• Promote a commitment to lifelong learning by encouraging members and others to foster and support educational opportunities in their communities.
• Educate members and others about low literacy among adults, family and youth, and encourage citizen action to address literacy concerns.
  

Home Life: This Community Service Program's objectives are:

• Educate members and others on issues to improve quality of life in the home and community, with an emphasis on the provision of basic needs.
• Educate members and others about the basic financial tools including financial planning, checking credit, giving wisely, identity theft and social security issues.
• Educate members and others about organizations that improve the lives of those in need: provide opportunities to offer support.

International Outreach: The objectives of this Community Service Program are to:

• Promote better understanding and support of the people and cultures of the world.
• Educate members and others about the world needs and provide opportunities to offer support.
• Educate members and others about the United Nations Programs concerning women and children and to support GFWC's presence as a UN Non-governmental Organization Observer.

Public Issues:  This Community Service Program strives to:

• Educate members as to the importance of civic involvement and to provide them with tools for community involvement.
• Educate members and others about the importance of active citizenship, veteran's affairs and historic preservation, and encourage participation in related activities.
• Educate members and others about community, home and vehicle safety issues and encourage citizen action on these issues.
